Broseley heritage featured in new jigsaw

A unique and historic area of the town of Broseley is the subject of our latest 1000-piece Shropshire jigsaw.

Broseley heritage featured in new jigsaw

The puzzle features the Jitties, a maze of narrow lanes and passageways linking a jumble of old squatter cottages.

Each Jitty has a distinct name that reflects its history as well as the people who once lived there.

The Jitties began in the 1590s as a squatter community of immigrant miners who lived and worked in dire poverty.

Over the centuries the Jitties remained a place on the edge of society - and sometimes beyond the law - where little was officially recorded or written down.

As the years passed, the people who lived there struggled long and hard to gain prosperity and social acceptance.

Today, the Jitties is a desirable place of mostly restored cottages with a unique community heritage.

Our jigsaw features all 18 Jitties and is available to buy through our website with free UK postage - see here.
