Wind and wild ponies on Brown Clee
What a glorious sight - wild ponies on Brown Clee, with their coats gleaming in the sunshine.
Behind them you can see the Corvedale stretching out across the landscape towards the Long Mynd and Caer Caradoc.
I had parked at Abdon and came across the ponies while walking along the Shropshire Way.
The wind was so fierce that at times it was difficult to stay upright, although in no way does this image convey the strength of the gusts that whipped across the hill.
I carried on for a while hoping for improved conditions and some dramatic light, but it never happened and in the end I reluctantly made my way back to the car.
