Supermoon lights up Shropshire skies
Harvest moonrise over Atcham - my view of St Eata's Church, with the slopes of the Wrekin in the background.
I wasn’t going to miss the chance of photographing what was the second supermoon of the year, so it was just a case of deciding where to go.
After scouring a map I headed for the village of Atcham, waited patiently for the moon to rise into position, and finally got my shot.
For the technically minded, this picture was taken using a Nikon Z8 at 600mm, and I was delighted when it appeared on the front page of the Shropshire Star the following day.
Interestingly, the church is the only one in England to be dedicated to Saint Eata, who was the Bishop of Hexham.
This beautiful building is Grade I listed and incorporates blocks from the nearby Roman city at Wroxeter,
