Snowy sentinels on the summit of Titterstone
They stand like sentinels, looking out across the Shropshire landscape towards the Black Country.

These are the radar domes on Titterstone Clee, surrounded by snow-covered rocks glinting in the late afternoon sunshine.
The radar station lies within the ramparts of a hill fort that dates back to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age.
The fortification covered 70 acres which made it one of the largest in Shropshire, although the remains have been partlally destroyed by quarrying activity.
I spent a bitterly cold few hours up on the summit and came back with a few contenders for our 2026 Shropshire calendars - a good start to the year.
