Sunshine and shadow on Cothercott Hill
A patchwork of fields and hedges - this was my view from Cothercott Hill, near the Long Mynd.
It was a beautiful day of sunshine and shadow, with a hint of spring in the air.
Adstone Hill is on the left, with a line of trees along the ridge marking the route of an old drovers’ road.
Beyond it is the Clun Valley, and ranged across the horizon are, from left, Black Hill, Sowdley Wood and Radnor Wood.
On the right is Sunnyhill, which is topped by Bury Ditches Iron Age hill fort.
This was my first visit to Cothercott - always good to discover somewhere new.
