Spring stages dazzling display in Shropshire
It was one of those perfect spring days, with golden daffodils nodding away in a village churchyard.

This is St Edith's Church at Eaton-under-Heywood, on the lower slopes of Wenlock Edge.
I took this picture while listening to birdsong punctuated by the insistent call of a nuthatch perched high up on the church tower.
There was real warmth in the sunshine and it felt as if maybe - just maybe - we had seen the last of winter.
A few days later I came across some spectacular colour at Ironbridge, with dazzling pink cherry blossom standing out against a bright blue sky.
It was a glorious morning with birds singing their hearts out in the sunshine at the start of a brand new day.
Then, to add a touch of magic, I heard the sharp, clear call of a kingfisher as it darted along the River Severn.
So uplifting - and the kind of early spring morning that feels good for the soul.
Finally, I stepped into the churchyard at All Saints in Wellington and was greeted by the sight of this fabulous blossom against a bright blue sky.
There have been at least three churches on this site over the centuries, and it’s interesting to learn that Patrick Brontë - father of the writers Charlotte, Emily and Anne - once served as a curate here.
I'm still hoping to discover more beautiful blossom around Shropshire, so please share if you know of any particularly striking displays near you.
